In this article, I’ll write more than 101 frugal anniversary ideas. I compiled this list after thorough research and interviewing people.
I admit I never did enough activities on our anniversaries. We have spent 13 anniversaries together so far. SMB (my wife), has a weakness towards the jewelry and clothing but what she’s most interested in is, spending time with me, on a vacation or simply at home, two of us! So our anniversary ideas revolve around creating moments and memories.
If you enjoy learning fun and innovative ways to reuse household items, you will love the following hints. Earlier we posted 30 Ways To Reuse Bottles And Containers and How to Decorate Your Home with Used Furniture. You can put your imagination and creativity to work in various other ways than those as well! This article is a compilation of many such ideas that came to my mind while writing this post.
There is no need to struggle to find your perfect way of reuse and re-purpose. You can pretty much reuse every household item. Leave your ongoing efforts to recycle and get to reuse things around your home in a smart way. You will even have fun through the entire process. First, you might want to find out why it is important to reuse. Determine your priorities and get prepared to cut costs.
Last week while coming home from a trip to Yellowstone with 100 other passengers in a 5-hour flight from Denver to Ft. Lauderdale. I was thinking what should I be doing there. The idea for this post came to my mind then and there. I watched people doing all sorts of things on the flight and made mental notes of the things I thought were interesting.
Some of the ideas like hand wrestling, playing card games on your tablet computer, knitting sweaters and writing letters, etc were originated in flight. I often find myself in a situation where I have nothing important to do. This article might make your free time pass by faster while you achieve some satisfaction out of it. Aren’t we supposed to make our lives meaningful?
Gifting is my favorite topic to write about. A few months back we were invited into a friends birthday party and we had a hard time picking a gift. The idea to create a ready-to-refer list of birthday gifts took shape that day. I want to make this your last stop before making a decision. Each one of the ideas cost $50 or less in most of the places, with some odd exceptions. I do hope you like it the way you liked my list of anniversary gifts.
This list is divided in to categories your gift recipient fits in to. Feel free to skip to appropriate section for quick glance if you’re short of time. Else, read through the entire list. You’ll find a few you want to explore more. It took me more than 3 months to finish this list. Do let me know what you think about it and what other useful birthday gifts you can think of. Best of luck for your hunt.
I have been using Fiverr since last 4 years. It started with a logo design for this blog. All you have to do is shell out five lonely bucks an in return you get one of thousands of little services that are very useful and innovative, and you can just browse them all to find what you like. There is a section called “unique Gifts” that’s full of awesome gift ideas for just $5. Here’s I am going to mention some of the gigs that stood out to me.
Bored of the same old stuff of wine and flowers when it comes to gifts? I have noticed we are getting a lot of gift cards these days, I think people think gift cards are the best way to refrain from picking something which the receiver either don’t need or already have. Lately, have been thinking of using Fiverr to create memorable gifts that can make a mark for us. There are various gigs offered on Fiverr, that I am going to mention now. If you have a good idea to make for a gift but don’t have enough knowledge or skills, guess what?
Everyone needs pampering, and everyone likes to feel appreciated. After 7 years of marriage, every once in awhile I take SMB, my wife, for granted (especially since I started blogging). I thought she accepted me putting numerous evening and weekend hours into blogging. But, she didn’t, she thinks OCAAT is my second wife!
Also, my frugal ways don’t really match with hers. We were raised in contrasting lifestyles – I never had plenty of things in my life, whereas she got whatever she wanted. We know that marriage is a bond of love with mutual compromise, which keeps the bond.
Imagine this scenario: you’ve been stuck in a job you hate for nearly a decade. It doesn’t pay a lot, just enough for you to keep on top of your bills and put some money away. Perhaps you’re paying down debt or maybe want to put a down payment on a house.
And then a dream job opportunity comes up. It’s a job in a great company with a lot of opportunity for career progression, but the hours are more suited to you and allow you to pursue your other passions. Maybe you have a blog or a side hustle that you could really do with spending more time on.
Although we are not Christian, traditionally we, Hindus, do celebrate the Christmas. We eat special cakes, turkey, etc. on Christmas day. We light candles and many of us join the church ensemble. Naturally, we do exchange gifts for Christmas as well. We did have Christmas trees set up in our home every year during childhood. Which was not exactly the Christmas tree as you know it, but, it was a variety of Casuarina tree.
We did follow some strict rule and always maintained our budget while selecting the gifts for Christmas. From that background, I would like to list some of the gifts that can be considered useful and good while being frugal at the same time.
When we feel tired and sick of our environment and it seems we need to make some changes around the place where we dwell, admit it or not, it is at times difficult to make big changes especially when we only have small budgets and we have a very hectic work schedule. So, can you furnish your home for cheap?
Luckily, there are easy and inexpensive ways on how to furnish your place without much struggle. It is not possible to transform your home the way you prefer it to be if it is very cluttered. Of course, you have to start clearing the clutter first prior considering making some changes in your environment.
I read an article on Mahatma Gandhi last week and compelled to write this non-financial piece. Gandhi must be a known figure to you, they way you know Nelson Mandela or Dr. martin Luther King, Jr.
For me, born and brought up in India, I felt Gandhi every day in our school, in prayers, in lessons and in pictures on the classroom wall. I started learning Gandhi the moment I developed reading ability. The practice is still followed in Indian schools. He’s the father of the nation.
