Carnival of Personal Finance #361 – The Mothers Day Edition

Welcome to the 361′st edition of Carnival of Personal Finance. I am honored to be your host for the second time in 12 months of my blogging history. If you are a first time visitor, thanks for your time, do remember the blog name, very easy to remember – I guess and most importantly, keep on visiting. Like every other blogger I talk rubbish sometimes, if you are a regular personal finance blogger or blog reader, you may have been already accustomed to read gibberish and non-sense stuff often anyway. When neo-bloggers (in relative term) starts claiming a beautiful discovery that Dave Ramsey’s methods are mathematically wrong, I feel pity on their ignorance. Coming back to the point, yes I do talk non-sense sometimes, but most of the time my articles get editor’s choice distinctions at carnivals. So keep visiting. I may bore you sometimes, but not always. I forgot that the theme is Mother’s day today. Here’s my tribute to my mother, published yesterday. Once you’re done with that, continue to next paragraph, if not, finish reading it first. The biggest gift you can give to your mother, is your presence, I accept your apology for not being able to be with your

Best of Money Blog Carnival #150 – The Easter Edition

It was no-brainer for me to decide on the theme for this carnival edition. Yesterday we had Easter breakfast, Easter lunch and Easter dinner. SMB scouted the internet for those recipes, while I was on it to search for top ‘egg’ related quotes. We had Easter eggs too, the kind that is in the picture below. Let’s start with the carnival which consistently brings top 10 personal finance articles of the week for you, aptly name Best of Money Carnival. This is Best of Money Carnival’s Sesquicentennial edition (150th). Let’s give a big hand to the carnival for this achievement. Rank 10: “A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked” Kurt Fischer presents Claiming a Home Office posted at Money Counselor Rank 9: “An Egg to day is better than a Hen to-morrow” Karl presents Spring Training for your Money posted at CultOfMoney Rank 8: “No clever arrangement of bad eggs ever made a good omelet” Average Joe presents Estate Planning for Really Smart People posted at The Free Financial Advisor Rank 7: “Love and eggs are best when they are fresh” Steve Zussino presents Guide to Freezing Food to save money posted at Grocery Alerts

Carnival of Personal Finance #347, The Giants Edition

February 6, 2012
By

It’s official now that Giants would rule the world for next one year. Congratulations to Eli and his team. Still, my heart goes out for Tom Brady. What a player he is! Welcome to this edition of Carnival of Personal Finance. Plenty of good submission to go through as always. Enjoy the posts. The list might help you discover some new blogs. Top 3 Editor’s Pick #1 – Jeff Rose from Good Financial Cents presents 7 Financial Advisors I would LIke to Punch in the Face, This is editor’s pick because it exposes an unhealthy trend  among so called financial experts who claim to be super wise. We should be cautious in our approach of seeking financial advice. #2 – The Weakonomist from Weaknomics presents You Have Too Much Crap Because We Won The Cold War. Which is, I thought, an interesting point of view on the state of US economy today. Cost services are much higher compared to cost of goods. #3 Jeffrey from Saving Advice presents Money Lessons Learned from Traveling Well. Well, ask me! I am from a different country where I saw frugality as only possible option. Get out of this country and get to third world countries. Learn from their lives. Seating on

5th Weekly Yakezie Challenger Round Up

July 31, 2011
By

Hello friends and guests, welcome to 5th edition of Yakezie challenger round-up! There is a slight change in the way I do these weekly roundups from this week. Instead of pouring every one’s contents, I will read and put only a handful that I find interesting to share with others. Earlier I mentioned about converting this to web’s biggest PF round-up but that is not feasible any more, ideas change over time and strategies have to be revised regularly. Even after changing the format the qualification criteria remains the same, every participant is a Yakezie challenger, who is striving to get in to Alexa 200K rank and remain there for full 6 months before becoming member. You can consider this effort as a give back to the people who contributed to the growth of my blog and I will continue to do it till the time I become a Yakezie member myself. As for other changes, I will now publish this round-up over week-end; this will allow me some more time to read the posts as opposed to publishing mid-week. Our Journey To Zero (Alexa 597K) – Writes how did he cut county fair expenses by almost half this year,

Yakezie Carnival – Best Of Yakezie This Week

Yakezie Carnival – Best Of Yakezie This Week

Just one year ago on the same day there were 80,000 people around the world simultaneously recorded their daily lives for a YouTube documentary Life In A Day. One year later I sat down to document a week of blogging from the best blog network on net – Yakezie, which has more than 400 blogs on its roll, by far surpassing the nearest rivals. And as I heard from its founder Financial Samurai, there is an extensive plan to expand and improve the network further. Yakezie is a strange world of symbiosis between rivals and competitors. Where writers help each other getting on their feet and help them start running, cutting the chase, let me start with the agenda.   Welcome to this week’s carnival which I am so proud to host.   Money Reasons :  Getting Rich On An Average Income - It’s hard for an average income person to become rich.  Here are strategies that I am using or wish that I could use to quicken the process or even make it possible to become rich on an average income. Financial Success for Young Adults : How Much Do We Save to Buy a House - When you are getting ready to

3rd Yakezie Challenger Round Up

July 13, 2011
By

The round-up is in its 3rd week now, and already it has become one of the biggest Yakezie round ups, excluding the carnivals. BTW, if you want to know all about carnivals, there is a full-page of wealth awaiting for your mouse (PC) or finger (smart phone) click,  Broke professional has that page.  Many thanks to her for the tedious job she did to bring this page up. This week the number of blogs participating in this round-up is 25, an awesome increase from first week’s 7 blogs. With new bloggers signing up every day, we will see further increase in coming weeks. If this continues, one fine day I can claim this round-up as the web’s biggest weekly blog round-up Tip: One money saving tip for home business owners, consider online fax for your business. What are challenging Yakezies are saying over the past week? Untemplater (Alexa 113K) discusses the relationship of manager and subordinate. She shares her view of the performance evaluation process. Most of us, the bloggers, are amateurs and have day job to keep, it is important that we cover the issues with work with same importance as issues related to saving money. Amazing Crystal @
