Yesterday it was a pleasant surprise for me to find an email from Eric Tyson’s PA, requesting a guest contribution on Eric’s behalf. I felt privileged and important. One of those bloggers’ satisfaction days. I read Eric’s books and always have been an admirer. This post is excerpt from his book. I am sure you’d get a lot of insight in to investing from this post. Enjoy the post!

Investing small amount

If you want your money to grow faster than the rate of inflation over the long term and you don’t mind a bit of a roller-coaster ride from time to time in your investments’ values, ownership investments are for you. Ownership investments are those investments where you own a piece of some company or other asset (such as stock, real estate, or a small business) that has the ability to generate revenue and profits.

Income Protection Insurance

Income Protection Insurance is an excellent way to ensure that you never lose out on the income you depend on, even if you become incapacitated and unable to work. IPI is not available in many parts of the world, so Australians should count themselves lucky that it is made available to them, for their own stability and peace of mind. If you are considering buying some Income Protection Insurance for the first time, or if you are unfamiliar with this type of insurance, here are three things to know.

Traveling is great, and this statement doesn’t really need an explanation. Another thing everyone is sure to know is that traveling is expensive. Even if you choose the cheapest accommodation in the area, cook your own food and avoid any kind of entertainment you have to pay for, you are still very likely to spend more when traveling than when staying at home.

Hotel Room

But the expenses are worth it, anyway. Speaking of expenses, apart from transportation, the largest part of your travel budget is usually taken up by accommodation. Now, the question is would you rather spend more to stay in a beautiful and ridiculously expensive 5 star hotel to have that super comfortable and luxurious all inclusive travel experience or opt for low-cost accommodation and spend the money you saved somewhere else? Both options obviously have their pros and cons, and we are going to look into them right now.

In my 10 years in USA we moved quiet a number of time. Sometime we sold all our furniture and shipped bare minimum items via discount cargo shipper. Sometimes we called local movers to carry items we packed to another locality and unload there. We also hired service of interstate movers. Almost always I felt like being cheated with few dollars. I was never satisfied with my spend for moving.

Moving Cheap Deals

Let’s say you are about to pay $1,000 for your next move. Now, check, recheck if there’s any other way where you can get a cheaper mover. Get quotes from multiple movers. Check to see U-Haul or Penske can give you cheaper moving option. You can ask your friends to help you load and unload. Let’s explore more.

Bank Debit Cards vs. Credit Cards: Does It Matter?

If you open any wallet, you’ll find that most people have at least one debit card and one credit card. This is how they pay for things, such as groceries, gasoline and personal items. Some people prefer one over the other; and if you’re deciding the best card for your need, you may question whether to stick with a bank debit card or take a chance with a credit card.

Credit Cards, Debit Cards

At the end of the day, there are no wrong or right answers. There are many reasons why some prefer credit whereas others prefer debit. about a year back I posted on same topic, whether to use a credit card or debit card? If you’re on the fence and can’t decide the best approach, it pays to consider the benefits — as well as the disadvantages — of both methods of payment.

In this article I’d mention top 10 books on personal finance that I’d recommend to anybody.

Personal Finance books

Self-help books can be very helpful when the writer is really set out to help people when he or she writes it. The readers, in turn, will find what they feel are most relevant to their own life’s experiences and apply what they learn from the book into their daily lives.

The following is a guest post on business travel insurance. Once in my job I had to travel between India, UK and US. I have a first hand experience on the insurance need while on business trip. One of my colleague got injured in an accident and the lack of coverage required our the-then employer to bail him out from the hospital. Do not neglect this essential step while you are on a business or any trip outside your home country. Enjoy the post!

Business travel

If you are arranging a business trip for yourself or an employee, one of the most important things you will have to arrange is travel insurance. But what exactly is business travel insurance, and how does it differ from a personal insurance policy? Here’s what you need to know.

We are not home owners yet but, we have many home owners friends who recently refinanced their mortgage. We are in our 30’s so most of friends are and refinancing at this age, makes every sense. On a 30 year mortgage even a quarter percentage point gain in interest rate means saving a few thousands of dollars. This article is geared towards home owners who are looking to refinance
