While it may not be entirely suitable for everyone, there is no doubt that gold is a unique and potentially lucrative investment that remains enduringly popular. It remains one of the few assets that can be traded either physically or on paper, but it is the status of gold as an actual measure of wealth that earmarks the commodity as a unique haven during every economic austerity.

Its consistent historical performance also offers solace to investors and is extremely unusual in an increasingly volatile financial market. Since the days of early monarchies, gold has been the primary mode of investment, until recently, when stocks took over that role. Still, experts recommend having 10-15% of investment in gold.

The Secrets to a Happy Retirement

As you might expect, good health and plenty of money help retired workers enjoy themselves, but something else seems to be lowering retirees’ satisfaction. The proportion of retirees who say they feel “very satisfied,” dropped significantly in both the highest and lowest-income groups between 1998 and 2012, according to a 2016 Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI) survey.

We live in a condo association, mostly occupied by immigrant workers or retirees. The town we live in has one of the highest per-capita income in the country. Even a two bedroom condo costs around $150,000. We are renting here but, mostly the families own their condos. We have neighbors sporting Audi, Mercedes, and BMWs. Whenever we go for a walk inside the complex we feel that everyone is probably richer than us.

Do you always look at your neighbor and wonder why he always drives the latest and best model cars? He also has a lot of time and money to spend in holidays abroad every summer. Recently, you also noted that his child also goes to one of the best schools.
