Do you have a computer? What about a cell phone? If the answers to both of these questions were “yes,” then you have the two pieces of equipment that you need to make some extra income. Don’t worry, we’re not saying you need to sell either of these.

Make Money with Just a Computer and a Cellphone

In fact, they can become the cornerstones of a fully-fledged business if you work hard enough. There are so many ways you can earn money by being online that some of them at least will suit you. If you have little time, you can earn by answering surveys, if not anything else. Here are top survey sites for you.

You can earn money online by registering to InboxDollars. You’ll get a free $5 bonus when you sign up! You may have to wait a bit longer to make real big money, but it’s still easy money by doing things you do online anyway, like reading articles, watching ads and a variety of other things. 4024

SwagBucks is another site where you can earn money by answering survey and shopping using their site. To top it up, when you join SwagBucks will also give you a $5 bonus. It is like, getting paid to do things you’d do anyway!!!

Previously I wrote about 15 creative ways to earn money online. This post is in similar line and talks about ways to earn money online by doing uncommon tasks which require some kind of special knowledge.

The internet is acting as a catalyst in this process.  There are more and more opportunities now available on the internet if you’re looking for a way to make a buck on the side.

Making this move could be the first step for someone who is ultimately aspiring to become fully self-employed.

There are countless ways to get yourself going on this path, such as testing for or writing for websites, being rewarded for giving your opinion, etc.

Try out these money-making ideas to make some extra cash on the side, or to even start your own business.

Writing Content for Websites

With every other internet-related trend comes the increased demand for content.  As more opportunities for earning income online become apparent, this consequentially leads to more demand for content.

There are more and more websites being created these days which need to be filled.  Also, the increase in e-commerce has led to an increased number of affiliate sites and blogs, which operate with the sole purpose of earning money by linking to other sites.

Every affiliate, blog and review site needs to be filled with fresh new content to keep visitors coming back and boost its SEO performance.

Online Tutoring

You don’t have to have a teaching degree to get paid for spreading your knowledge. And the great thing is, there are platforms out there that allow you to share virtually any knowledge you may have.

You can give virtual guitar lessons, cooking lessons, or tutoring sessions in virtually any subject.

Even if you don’t have any special skills, there are websites out there who are always looking to hire tutors for students.

You just need your computer with a built-in webcam, and the ability to speak English!

Selling Used Books

If you’ve been to college, you know the cost of a new textbook is the equivalent of your monthly rent. Used books are the way to go, and if you can get in on that business, you can make a pretty penny.

There are several bigger businesses that deal in used textbooks, but don’t let that deter you. Even on Amazon individuals sellers sell their used books.

If you don’t have used books with you anymore, the best place is to buy from garage sales.

If you see a used book at a yard sale, see what it’s worth via websites like BookScouter.com to see what they’re worth. If you can buy the book for about half what you can sell it for, you’re on your way.

Keep that up, and over time, you can make a decent amount of money just selling those books to textbook resellers.

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to branch into doing it yourself, you can also offer used textbooks via your own Amazon listing, and even extend into selling other kinds of used books.

Virtual Assistant

Everybody needs a helping hand sometimes. You can get paid to run virtual errands for people by offering up services as a virtual assistant. As the trend of having a distant virtual assistant at a lower cost is rising.

The exact tasks you’ll do are obviously between you and your clients, but they typically include things like buying event tickets, researching trips, and scheduling restaurant reservations.

If your clients are in your area, you could feasibly expand into offering in-person services like picking up dry cleaning, buying groceries, and even pet sitting.

Just be clear about your fees from the beginning, whether you charge by the hour or based on the task you’re asked to do. Register for sites like ELance, Freelancer, Guru or Upwork and bid to become a virtual assistant.

Freelance Tech Support

Are you the person everybody calls when something goes wrong with their phone or computer? If you’re always helping grandma figure out how to access her email anyways, why not get paid for your services?

Many people struggle with technology issues, and they just want a fast answer. Offering freelance tech support allows you to be on call when those people need a hand.

Just do what you’d do for grandma: Talk them through the problem they’re experiencing and help them fix it.

The only difference is that, when you’re done, you’ll actually get paid for your time instead of just getting an extra pair of socks in your Christmas package this year.

Website Testing

If you have ever been browsing the web and landed on a site which has some blatant flaws in its design, then you are already doing a potentially money-making activity. Companies pay for testing out their sites.

Companies pay for normal consumers to access their sites and give feedback on certain aspects of them.

You might find that the contact information is not easy enough to find or that the color scheme being used is far from appealing.

Website owners value your thoughts – as an average site visitor – as it allows them to make the necessary improvements to increase their site’s performance and ultimately increase conversions.

Business Consulting

When you hear “business consultant,” you probably think that you need to have a Master’s degree from a business school to do that job.

But that’s not true. As successful business consultant Sam Ovens stated in a  YouTube video, all you really need is “a cellphone and a laptop, and the skills you already have.”

There are hundreds, even thousands, of niches that need to be filled in the business world, and you don’t need to be a business guru to fill those niches.

You can provide consulting services for IT systems if you’re good with computers, or online content services if you’re a natural wordsmith.

If you have any skills that a business could leverage to improve their bottom line, then you have the skills needed to start a business consulting firm.

Making extra money doesn’t have to be an overwhelming prospect that requires an extensive investment of your time and resources.

With just a few hours, a laptop, and a cellphone, all of these money-making options are within your reach.
