Working from home using your computer has become a popular way of making money, using talent and creativity. I make money blogging, well, not exactly I get money for writing blogs. I get money from advertisers, who want to advertise on this blog. The more successful and popular a blog is, more money advertisers spend on it.

Online Money Making

Previously, we talked about ways of earning side income and how to make money fast here. This is one of such posts. I can guarantee that each of the ways of making money online from home described below is legitimate and very creative.

If you think filling out surveys is a boring task, think again. The surveys we take online make and shape the services and products industries. If you honestly criticize a product you are reviewing in the survey, you will do good for other consumers and, vice-versa.

Some of the ways like, making smart phone apps and designing website, etc. require special skills. Perhaps, you’s realize that without skills earning money is not possible on sustainable basis, as I talked about before, creating value is the only way to become rich.

The need to reach financial freedom has made people diversify their income more over time. This has been made even direr by the current unstable economic environment. Online creative methods have proven to work well because they can be taken as part or full time income generating ventures. Here are 15 creative ways to earn money online from home.

1)              Blogging for ad revenues

If you have a blog that has generated a sizable following, advertising networks like Google Adsense are willing to pay you lots of money. Google places advertisements on your blog and you get paid when a visitor clicks them.

Blogging on a self hosted domain, to earn money on the side, is still the best way in 2015. This year my blog income went up to $6,000 in April, an all time high. I started with a $70 income at my 7th month, back in 2011. The more content you publish, it attracts more visitors.

Want to open a blog of your own? I have this easy to follow guide to start your blog in 20 minutes and $20.

2)                    Tweet for sponsors

With social networking becoming a major advertising platform, no corporate manager wants to skip being present at the critical space. To reach more people, big companies look for people with good following and pay some money to advertise on their pages.

On Twitter, Facebook and other social networks, you can get paid by charging the sponsors to communicate to your followers. In twitter for example, you set the amount you want to receive for every tweet. Make sure to get a large following and then use tweets.com to get the companies in need to advertise look for you.

Remember that this is fun because you earn extra money from doing what is enjoying to you. There are plenty organization willing to pay for your tweets, more followers you have more money you can earn.

A Google search would bring you enough sites that can pay you for tweeting on behalf of their sponsors. Becoming social influencer willt ake its time but try starting with it now, you’ll master it in no time.

3)                  Selling products for online stores

To reduce the cost of running business and reach more clients, many stores are now opting for online sales. You can earn some income online by selling these products. Stores such as Amazon.com have affiliate programs that allow you to market their product and pay you after clients make orders.

At eBay, you can buy products and sell them at higher prices. All you need is some sharp market analysis skills. You need to evaluate what people want and then search for it online. Negotiate to have a better price and immediately place it for clients to see and buy at eBay.

Make sure to have the right payment methods such as credit cards and e-wallets. You can use Paypal but the commission rate is higher than other peers. Here are a list of places you can sell products online.

4)                Selling photographs

Selling photography can be fun and a money minting venture. Because of the fast rising demand for pictures and images, many sites will be willing to pay several cents for your photos. Just identify what you love most and take photos professionally.

You can also search for others online and sell. If you can sell stocks of photos daily, you can make a change in your life. Here’s a list of sites you can sell your digital photos.

5)                Filling online surveys

Companies assess their products and image using surveys. They also evaluate the suitability of new markets using surveys. You can consequently earn some money answering such surveys. Identify the sites that offer genuine surveys and that will pay you and not reward you with some loyalties.

You do not need special skills to earn money responding to surveys. Once you identify the best online survey companies, all you need is setting their notifications on to get informed when new surveys are available.

Just do a Google search and you’ll get plenty of legitimate sites that can pay you money for your effort. First, learn to avoid online paid survey scams. You can be fooled easily by scamsters.

6)                  Make websites

If you have web design skills, you can make some money online. Because more people want to have personal and corporate sites, you just need to advertise yourself so that they can make orders. You however need to be ready to make demonstration sites and generate confidence with the client base. For example, you could offer to make sites and allow the clients some trial period to see how best it works.

In other cases, website designing companies will pay you some money to design sites for their clients. Once you register with them, they give you all the details and you develop the sites from scratch. You could make a lot of money for making sites.

You can alternatively buy catchy domain, there are plenty of nice names that are still available to be registered as a domain. You can resell later to interested parties. Do you think I got a catchy name for this site? Last time I checked, OCAAT has a Majestic SEO traffic price of $38,000. I am not selling now though.

7)                Transcriptions

Transcription is putting transforming information especially in video and audio formats into texts. Almost every profession is need of transcriptionists. Court cases, doctors’ interviews, criminal investigations and even job interviews require being put to text for learning, storage and even transmission purposes.

You only need to cite transcription companies and register with them. They will send audio and video files for you to translate into texts. You will be paid depending on the length of audio or video records being transcribed.

My brother is in medical transcription business. He runs a company out of two-room home from India. He and his team handle transcription job for quiet a few American medical facilities. A guide to start your transcription business from home.

8)            Content development

To inform clients about their presence and products, companies hire freelance writers to develop contents that is appealing. This has turned out to be great business with many freelance companies providing the link to potential customers.

All you need is having passion for writing and then research a little about respective products. You will be given some keywords to use for a given number of times in 300, 400 or 500 words articles. Once completed, you will be paid several dollars depending on the clients’ budget.

9)                Writing e-books

Because of the fast rising world of self publishing, more people are seeking ways to sell their ideas. Sites such as Amazon and Noble and Kobo among others allow you to promote your publications and get 70% of the entire returns.

This is a great way to make money especially for writers. At Amazon, eBooks hit eight million by the year 2012 with over 60% of these sales falling in the class of Mystery and Thrillers. One of the publishers in Canada makes 2 million annually from ebook sales.

All you need is carefully write your book and then put it on the site for readers to buy. Here’s a wonderful guide to writing eBooks.

10)                  Working as a virtual assistant

With continued focus on cutting costs, companies have shifted to online assistants to receive and make all their replies. You can work as a virtual assistant for clients by answering their clients’ calls, mails and providing all the required information.

This is a great chance of making consistent income with companies offering about $10-$30 per hour. When you work for tens of hours daily and annually, the returns can be a lot higher. This has seen many people leave conventional jobs and reached their financial freedom.

Best way is to contact people you know to create reputation. This reputation will help you getting jobs from strangers. Alternate way is to register at Odesk, Elance or Freelancer and bid for VA projects. You may have to bid really low initially to bag a few successful projects under your belt. Secure good ratings from your clients, you can then increase your asking price.

11)                Leasing your personal skills

Until recently, it was impossible to monetize personal skills in the conventional traditional market. However, with information technology, you are able to sell your skills online. Using sites such as iWriter, 99Designs and even Elance among others, you can sell your skills and be paid.

You can code, design or even translate information for payments. Many freelancing sites have thousands of jobs that match your skills. The good thing about them is that you can work at your free time such that you do not have to interrupt your normal working schedule.

12)              Selling your videos at YouTube

If you can create impressive videos about your life, songs, products or even with professional focus you can sell them on YouTube. You only need to make your videos interesting and worth so that more viewers need to access them.

By charging them a small fee, you will be able to make some returns. Remember to get the right methods of internet payment so that you cab receive your returns.

13)            Online tutoring

If you are a specialist in areas such as English and mathematics, you can make money tutoring students. You need to open a website for online tutoring, design the right packages and set the right platforms to assist students.

More parents are turning to online tutors to assist their children get supplements to what they receive in class. Remember to get the right equipments such as cameras and communication medium such as Skype and social networks.

14)            Mobile application tester

Companies and manufacturers that are uncertain about their applications always look for testers. For example Apple pays people to test iPhone apps to establish their effectiveness. You need to understand most of the mobile applications from a technical point of view to be able to assist the company.

Using utest, you can build your reputation as a reliable tester and always get new products to test. This will however take some time to generate enough income. However, once you become reputed, you are sure of making a lot of money because the company will rely on you to identify key issues that should be eliminated before sending them to the market.

15)              Designing logos

If you are good at graphics. Close your eyes and join Fiverr, it’s best way to attract clients. I do things from Fiverr very often. I first designed OCAAT logo at Fiverr for $5. It was not a very good logo but, the blog stood with that for more than 2 months, before I finally took it down and put my own designed logo. The current one is professionally designed though.

Do you have skills in graphics design and you can make good logos. New companies, enterprises and even individual ventures are willing to pay some amount to get the best logos. Just sign up at freelance websites and specify your area of focus is graphics designs.

You can make a lot of money in logo designs. You could also venture into other designs such as Tee-shirts graphics, cartoons and photos for competitions. Often, you will be paid to make these designs while the buyer assumes their copyrights and can do whatever they want with them.

These are just 15 ways to make money from your home. There are various other ways to consider as well. I hope one of these may be suitable to your skills and preferences.

Readers, what do you think about these legitimate online money making ways? If you have any experience earning money from these methods, do share your knowledge with us.

My wife has been trying her hand at #3 for a couple of months now. The websites who allow you to post the photos for a shared commission have pretty high standards and some of hers have been denied. She is getting better at it though and we hope it can be a source of income in the future.

Thanks for that insight Zimmy! I never sold a picture yet. It is kind of logical that they’d want superior quality pictures as millions of people can take good pictures, if I take 10 photos, one of them would come out really good.

I love earning money online, but I had no idea that you could actually tweet for money. I don’t know if I’d do it, but it’s interesting. I’m sure lots of celebrities cash in that way.

I’m trying my hand at the website building/blogging. One of the perks about this particular project is that it affords me the opportunity to really help some people with their finances. Right now I am at about the break even point as my monthly costs equal my monthly income. It sucks that I haven’t made any money, but for now I enjoy the interactions and the new people I get to meet.

I’ve been searching for online passive income for years and still, dividend stocks ( and basic options) are the winners for me. All other options require a lot of work (which can be very subjective, since for some paople selecting and trading stocks may seem too much work as well). Well, I am trying to improve my blog to be able to monetize it one day. A tremendous work!!! Sometimes I want to give up.

They also provide a free shipping label. They buy all types of books – textbooks, nonfiction and recent bestsellers. Its quick and easy!
