Enrich Inner Soul, Enjoy Finer Things In Life And Feel Richer

The motto of my blog is to get rich in four ways Monetarily, Emotionally, Spiritually and Socially. So far, most of the time, I have only written about getting richer monetarily.

In this post I will describe the finer things in life which make you richer emotionally, and make you feel content and satisfied.

When we meet other people, mostly we talk about these finer things which make us happy and we share these with others to make them happy.

We don’t talk about how much money we have in bank or how much debt we paid off lately; and when we do, they are generally a serious discussion sans all the fun.

It is essential to be truly rich that you do feel richness from your inner soul, otherwise, money alone can’t buy you lasting happiness.

When I experience these simple things in daily life, they bring a sense of fulfillment to my otherwise thirsty soul stuck in a competitive world.

These are for free, and available every where, if you look for.

Smell of soil after first drops of rain

Seeing a droplet of water on grass

Smelling morning coffee

Smiling wife opening the door, when I return home from work

Listening to waves sitting on a beach

Watching a bird playing on a tree branch

Watching a snail trying to make its way

Watching a setting/rising sun

Listening to church choir

Getting my boss’s praise

Watching reflection of moon on a lake

Watching fall colors

Growing seeds in to plants

My favorite teams winning in a tense finish

My wife praising any thing about me

Meeting an old friend after a long time

Bathing in the ocean (Atlantic in my case)

Smelling a brand new car (someone else’s car that is 🙂 )

Finally reading through a book

Waking up on holidays and realizing its a no work day

A morning kiss

Completing all my day’s tasks

Getting an emailed thank you

Conversation with a toddler

Playing with little kids

And also, “Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy”

There are many other finer things to enjoy in your life, what makes you happy, readers?

Do remember to follow me on Twitter and/or Facebook, and subscribe to my RSS feed, coz’ I will help. Oh yes, could you please click on that Google +1 button once?

These are some really good ideas. Lately I have been making an effort to read more. It has been really relaxing to sit outside in the summer sun and take in a good book. I also like taking my camera out and taking pictures of what I see. Thanks for the great list.

I think of all these on the list, fall colors is my favorite. I love watching the leaves turn – its so awesome! I’ve heard that falls on the east coast are far better than what I’m used to, so i”m going to check that out sometime too

Jeff, there’s no fall color in South Florida, its ever green here. We go to Smokey mountains to enjoy fall

    All great things, no doubt!

Happiness doesn’t equal materialism, it seems like you might view it that way too. For me, it’s playing with my kids and laughing.

all over again…have you forgotten? play that guitar in an empty hall with no furniture or creature around, all alone on your own. You’ll love it

Niki, I go through periods where I pick up my guitar and remind myself how to play. Then in my head, I unleash my inner rock star. Nothing quite as fulfilling as imagining a room full of people singing along to my sweet grooves.

You can play the tables and chairs for a few mins.. you don’t have to be exactly a musician 🙂
