Have you ever heard the saying, “New Year, new you”? Maybe, you didn’t earn as much money as you wanted last year or maybe you lost money. Whatever the situation is, the New Year brings many new opportunities.

Supplement Your Income In 2018

Whether you are saving for a rainy day fund or you are looking to invest in a new home, there are tons of ways that you can supplement your income. There are some age-old techniques for a side hustle like, doing babysitting, tutoring students, etc. Here let’s talk about some ways that are very relevant to today’s age.

Here are some ways to Supplement Your Income in 2018

Taking Advantage Of Cash Back Rewards

More and more consumers are turning to shop online thanks to the convenience and wide range of inventory options.

You could literally search through tons of different stores within just a matter of minutes when it would take hours to shop these stores on foot.

Well, you might be surprised to learn that many of these online stores are now offering cash back rewards. This is an extremely smart way to earn cash for the shopping that you are going to be doing anyway.

In most cases, all you have to do is register a free account with some of your favorite retailers and you can earn as much as one percent cash back on all of your purchases.

Make Money Doing The Simple Things

Did you know that there are a number of online retailers that will pay you for just reading advertiser’s e-mails, taking online surveys, and watching videos?

Check out InboxDollars and Swagbucks. These are a proven way to earn money while simply surfing the internet.

In addition to this, you can receive money for just signing up for these types of services.

It only takes a few seconds to sign up for these services, they are extremely simple to use, and there are hundreds of them available online. OpinionOutpost is my favorite survey site that can be used to get reward cards by just answering brand surveys.

Since you are probably going to be researching products, reading reviews, and watching videos anyways, it only makes sense to take advantage of these free earnings.

Renting Out A Room

Do you own your own home with an extra basement or garage space?

Did you know that you could potentially turn this room into a spare room that you could rent out to travelers or out or town workers?

There are tons of online applications where you can post your room for rent. As long as you have a desirable space with an adequate room you could potentially earn hundreds to thousands of dollars worth of extra income.

Freelancing

Freelancing is a great way to earn extra cash for high-ticket items, vacations, and special events. All you need to do is answer ads and get a job of your liking, especially easy if you have already acquired the knowledge.

Believe it or not, there are thousands of college students who utilize this service every semester.

Take Advantage Of Google Adsense

If you spend a lot of time on an iPhone, taking pictures and recording events, you could turn this hobby into a moneymaking project.

With Google Adsense, people can earn revenue from ads embedded in your videos. You can place the videos on YouTube, where they will attract millions of viewers if you start making really good videos where you can teach something.

I produce videos of succulent art and bonsai making. I have a good follower base and I earned decent money through Adsense over my videos.

To increase your chances of making money, you can create a website specifically for your videos.

Every time someone watches your videos, you will earn money, which as the potential to add up to a significant sum.

Once your revenue reaches $100, Google will issue you a check or deposit the proceeds into your checking account.

Have A Yard Sale

Yard and garage sales are a great way to earn revenue. All you need to do is place an ad in your local newspaper and online at classified websites, such as Craigslist.

You would be surprised at how many people are willing to travel just to save money on household products, children’s attire and electronics.

Most people who host yard sales will save up all their used items throughout the year. When spring rolls around they will have a yard or garage sale.

This event will not only help you earn a little extra cash, but also help you clean the clutter out of your attic, basement or storage building.

Take Advantage Of Ridesharing Opportunities

There are many people who do not own a vehicle, making travel extremely difficult. If you have a little extra time to spare and a vehicle, you could earn quite a bit of revenue through ridesharing.

All you need to do is advertise your services in your local newspaper and via apps, such as Lyft and Uber.

Lyft offers bonuses and incentives to individuals who are willing to participate in their ridesharing services. This is a great way to earn extra cash when you are not working at your full-time job.
