How Couriers Can Help You During Special Occasions

It is widespread knowledge that running a business presents business owners with unusual and unexpected scenarios. Here are a few ways couriers can help during special occasions.

Fewer Size Restrictions When Using a Courier

Unlike the postal service, courier services can offer flexible shipping options depending on the size of a parcel. If using the post, there are a multitude of requirements and restrictions for parcels that do not allow for certain items to be shipped based on size.

How Couriers Can Help You During Special Occasions

Courier services fill this need by providing adaptable shipping requirements to meet customers’ needs.

Shipping Certain Materials

Certain materials are not permitted to be transported by traditional shipping services such as toxic material, bodily fluids or waste, and certain chemicals.

Courier services fill this need by providing the equipment and logistical power to fulfill these types of orders that traditional shipping services are not able to.

However, if you are unsure whether your parcel contains restricted material, contact the courier service to verify their policies.

Last-Minute Orders

Say you are in a pinch and need to drop off a parcel to be shipped at 9 p.m., if you try going to the post office they will be closed.

That said, some courier services offer expanded hours in which parcels can begin the shipping process.

So look around and find a courier service that allows for 24/7 drop-off or pick-up.

Sensitive Information

Say you are attempting to send medical test results, academic test scores, or a large check.

You wouldn’t want the wrong person to get their hands on any of those things. Courier services are a better option than the traditional mail because most offer a delivery guarantee or your money back, and generally are more capable of delivering items containing sensitive information by limiting the time the parcel is in possession of the courier service.

Always use a courier service when mailing a large check, traditional mail does not cover lost mail under financial responsibility, whereas an overwhelming majority of courier services do.

Hopefully, next time you are presented with an unusual and unexpected shipping situation, try to keep in mind these three ways courier services may be able to help.

Overall, couriers are more willing to work with customers and are able to fulfill orders at a faster pace.
