If you often think about building your own online small business or improving the one you have – this article is for you. It’s no secret that a good online business has to have a smoothly running website despite how many products there are on that website. Also, you need to know how to grow traffic to your website. It is an important thing to work on if you want your online business to grow and expand.

How to Build Online Entrepreneurial Small Business

In this article, you will also learn how not to overdo it when trying to sell your products online, how to get your website visitors’ emails, a little bit about testing campaigns and more.

Create a good website

When talking about smooth running an online business – smoothly running a website should be the first thing you build up.

As technology and various IT services evolve, now you have many options on how to build a great website. If you want to save time, you should consider hiring an experienced web programmer.

If you want to have a fun and engaging website, you should also hire a graphic designer with experience in drawing websites.

For example, if you are selling clothes with some prints on them, your website should reflect that.

Also, if you want to experience fewer expenses, you can try to create your website with templates from the WordPress platform.

They have a lot of great design templates with various prices and allow you to install a lot of useful plugins to your website for free.

Use testing to get to know your customer

If you want to get to know your customers much better, try A/B testing.

It is a good way to know more about your customer habits – what they like, what buttons they are more likely to buy, what colors of your website attract the most attention and so on.

For example, if you are selling jumpers and t-shirts, try to test which category gets more attention, what colors of your clothing gets more clicks and sales.

In that way, you will be able to customize your website and offer your customers the best experience. And the best of all is that you will be likely to make more sales online.

Work on your website traffic

If you want to get more customers to your website and make more sales, you should definitely work on your website traffic.

It could take some time to build a huge flow of users to your website but it can be done faster if you will concentrate on SEO (search engine optimization) processes.

7 Tools You Need to Start Your Own Online Business

What good SEO does is that you can reach the first positions in search engines like Google, Yandex, Bing and so on. It means that if you have better positions – the customers are more likely to click on your website.

In that way, you will acquire more website visitors. Also, you should work on your social media skills and promote your website there.

For example, if you have your personal t-shirt brand, you can promote some sales to those clothes on your Facebook or Instagram page.

Ask your website visitors for their emails

If you want to increase your sales and promote your website through one more communication channel – ask your customers to leave their emails in the newsletter subscription box on your website. It is an important action to consider if you are planning some sales campaigns or promoting new products.

For example, if you sell some linen shirts with personalized prints, you can create a pop-up subscription box and offer a 10% discount for their order if they subscribe to your newsletter. It’s an attractive way to collect emails and stimulate sales.

Don’t overdo it with online sales

When doing business online, you should have in mind that not every one of your website visitors will buy your products.

Some of them can just visit your website of curiosity, some of them may look just for useful information about the products you sell.

So when you are planning marketing campaigns or create a social media plan, don’t forget to include not only discounts but also tell a story about your product, let customers get to know your product better by writing a blog or something similar.

If you do only season sales and discounts, some customers may get bored and that pushes them away.

Automatic emails do a lot

If you are getting a lot of visitors on your website and you do not intend to communicate with each of them personally, automation could be the key to your problems.

It’s nice to send automatic ‘thank you’ email to your customers when they buy your product or when their product is ready to be shipped. It can cost a little bit to configure those automatic emails, but details like this are what make the customer satisfied.9+

These are just a few things you need to consider if you want your online business to perform well.

Every action from testing and subscribing to your newsletter to automatic emails are important if you want to leave your customer satisfied with the services you provide and the products you sell.

Every advice that you just have read will help you to stimulate sales and engage your customers.
