I have been working from home since the middle of March.
We have a separate bedroom designated as office space and music space. During the day I occupy the room, as SMB doesn’t yet work.
It was very difficult to adjust in the beginning.
The single most effective step to better your personal finances is to increase your earning potential. Be it getting increment at current job, or getting a higher paying new job or doing something extra for your business to generate more profit.
No one likes feeling undervalued at work. If you don’t think that you are earning as much as you deserve, here are 7 things you can do to improve your earnings potential and make employers take notice.
Let me start with a disclaimer, I am not pretending that I am a guru of some sort who knows how to handle work pressure in any situation. I am writing this as I think this may help you if you are in a similar situation as I once was. It was becoming difficult for me to increase productivity, I wasn’t able to concentrate and wasn’t producing results I wanted to produce. Then I made these small adjustments.
It’s not that I practice all of the days in and day out, but I follow most of them every day. In a way, this is similar to the other projects I mentioned before, how to be a better person in 15 ways and how to feel good and increase productivity.
Although this is a personal finance blog, I write about small businesses a lot. Here we will focus on the employees of your business. To run a successful business, you need to have a fleet of happy employees. You need to keep them energized and protect them from any kind of harm or hazard.
Protecting your employees is key since they are your most valuable resource. There are many areas that you need to put practices in place so that you can keep your employees protected, but in this article, we are going to focus on only five ways to protect your employees.
Researchers have proven that career progress perception plays an important role in influencing an individual’s mood and productivity in the workplace. Whether you’re trying to be more productive in your current schedule or to have aspirations of launching a whole new start-up or a new career altogether, the drive to reach your goals is always aided by the feeling of making progress.
The way a person perceives their current position and recent career progress have a direct effect on their self-esteem, confidence, creativity, and morale. However, many times people are too hard on themselves and they allow their past and present to weigh down on their future.
Certification courses are of great help for students that wish to acquire specific skill sets within a short span of time. I am not talking about the courses that are usually pursued by students to save time and money from getting a college degree. I always feel a college degree is extremely important for getting highly paid positions later on.
This is a situation where you’re in a job and you want to grow up the ladder. Sometimes only showing great skills at work doesn’t mean you’re capable of handling more responsibilities and adapt to the changes the new position requires.
The other day we had layoffs at our workplace. A few people I know were asked to leave. I assisted one of my colleagues to revise his resume. And soon I was getting 2/3 resumes a day to look at. I was happy to assist them. What I found though was that their resumes were out of date. Some even worked for about 20 years in our company. they never had to do their resumes.
In a global economy, no one is safe, no job is secured. automation, robotics, shifting priorities, competition, regulation. You name a reason, for which our job security is at the bottom. The only thing we can ensure though is that we get a replacement job somewhere. Your resume is the first impression that you can create a potential new workplace.
Most people just do not realize how much their living and working environment impacts their personal productivity. If you are working out of a messy and cluttered area, you probably waste a total of 30 minutes a day trying to track down files or items that need.
Not only does this type of space keep you constantly distracted, but it promotes negative working energy as well. With that being said, you probably hear people say on a daily basis that they just don’t have enough room in their office to get organized, or their office really isn’t designed for their needs.
If your job requires you to spend a significant amount of time in front of a computer, how many mails do you write per day at work?
I do send around 30 -50 emails per day on average which includes mails to my team members, direct reports, leaders and colleagues. I write mails to people working in my organization or some other organization we deal with.
It is very difficult to cope with a inbox which receives a mail every couple of minutes and you require to answer a few of them as soon as possible.
An honest confession – until recently, my cubicle at work looked like a trash bin. I spent some money and energy fixing up my cubicle, and now it’s the envy of others.
In this article, I will talk about decorating a cubicle in manly ways. I have seen good, bad and ugly workspaces occupied by ladies, but they look so different from a man’s cubicle.
And honestly, I have very little idea of improving a woman’s cube. So, this article mainly aims at men. For women, there’s no better place than Pinterest to get ideas.
