I have been using Fiverr since last 4 years. It started with a logo design for this blog. All you have to do is shell out five lonely bucks an in return you get one of thousands of little services that are very useful and innovative, and you can just browse them all to find what you like. There is a section called “unique Gifts” that’s full of awesome gift ideas for just $5. Here’s I am going to mention some of the gigs that stood out to me.

Amazing Fiverr Gift ideas for $5

Bored of the same old stuff of wine and flowers when it comes to gifts? I have noticed we are getting a lot of gift cards these days, I think people think gift cards are the best way to refrain from picking something which the receiver either don’t need or already have. Lately, have been thinking of using Fiverr to create memorable gifts that can make a mark for us. There are various gigs offered on Fiverr, that I am going to mention now. If you have a good idea to make for a gift but don’t have enough knowledge or skills, guess what?

Although we are not Christian, traditionally we, Hindus, do celebrate the Christmas. We eat special cakes, turkey, etc. on Christmas day. We light candles and many of us join the church ensemble. Naturally, we do exchange gifts for Christmas as well. We did have Christmas trees set up in our home every year during childhood. Which was not exactly the Christmas tree as you know it, but, it was a variety of Casuarina tree.

Christmas Gifts

We did follow some strict rule and always maintained our budget while selecting the gifts for Christmas. From that background, I would like to list some of the gifts that can be considered useful and good while being frugal at the same time.

The Anniversary Gift guide

Long back I posted a list of frugal anniversary gift ideas. Till date that’s one of my most visited pages. Here’s an infographic that pretty much summarizes the gifts as per the anniversary year. To be honest I don’t believe in such demarcation that first anniversary gift has to be something made of paper and the second anniversary gift should something made off cotton.

We should bring the gift that we feel would make our spouse happy, if not happiest. Still there are some people who would like to go by the copybook. This year will be our 12th anniversary and it’s extra special because of the presence of a little one in our life.

I’ll post about this year’s experience when the day comes in July, just about a month from now. Now about the graphics below. I am not sure if you could wait till 50th anniversary before you gift a piece of gold or diamond for 60th. I admit I had gifted both gold and diamond already.

While we buy gifts for each other, we often forget to teach our children on gift buying. The following infographic will talk about 10 pointers that can teach your children all about an ideal gift giving. This inforgraphic was offered to me via mail, in a sense this is not unique to my blog. you may find a same infographic at some other site as well.

The subject and the lessons presented here are very touching and these were the main reasons I had accepted to post this on my blog.

For grand parents, the best gift has to be “presence of grand kids”, we should instill the important lesson of avoiding sales pitches to our children right from the young age. We need to tell them not to buy gifts on credit. Gifts should fit in to the pocket, that is, the budget. There is no better alternative to home-made gifts. Your packaging and finishing may not be good but the value of the gift would be many fold compared to a store brought similar item.

Previously we wrote about Romantic Ideas for Anniversary and Frugal but Romantic Gifts for Your Spouse, this is another with the same purpose, making your gift giving a good experience. I was brought up in a family which struggled to meet ends meet. We never bought gifts, specially the gifts that were exchanged during birthdays or Valentines days. We were used to giving hand-made gifts.

Love

When it comes to Valentines day, I never really celebrated it till I was in college. The first Valentines day that I can remember was celebrated sans gifts. We went for boating and then a dinner. I was not dating those days, it was just a celebration with bunch of friends. The first Valentine gift I can remember giving to my the then girl friend, and, now wife SMB, was a teddy bear bag, which was not handmade. It costed me a lot of money with respect to my monthly allocated budget. Perhaps that was the time when I started thinking about cheap alternate gift ideas.

Here is a toast to the health of the newly weds. Perhaps there is no better way to impress a loved one who is about to become a spouse than surprising her with an idea-inspired gift.  As a bridegroom, one does not have to strain too hard just to bring a memento to his fiancée.

Marriage

SMB and I dated for about 5 years before we got married. Of all the gifts she got on her shower I believe her grandmother’s necklace, which she cherished since childhood, made her most happy. Although we never discussed this but I feel that way.
