How Your Business Can Save Money on Deliveries

So long as you know how to go about it, we believe that you can save money on anything. Every single part of your business can be streamlined and made more cost-efficient if you’re willing to put the effort into refining your methods, and deliveries are no exception.

How Your Business Can Save Money on Deliveries

In fact, they’re a prime place to start. With the rise of internet commerce meaning that every successful venture must have a strong online presence, shipping is a fundamental part of the customer service you provide and has a significant impact on how your clients rate their experience with you.

Just because you want them to have a positive experience, however, it does not have to be an expensive one.  You can even look into how different platforms of social media and deliveries interact in supply chain cosmetics industry and how customers’ choices can be vastly affected by simple fads and influencers.

There are plenty of ways to save money on postage without compromising quality. Here’s what we suggest…

#1: Shop Around for Couriers

This is a golden rule for outsourcing any aspect of the supply chain: you must always shop around when choosing your collaborators.

A spot of healthy competition will help to drive prices down, and you’ll usually be able to secure better deals than you can imagine just by taking the time to ring around and compile a list of quotes.

When you find a competitive carrier, who guarantees quality too, you’ll know that you’ve found the perfect match.

#2: Be Willing to Haggle

Once you have a shortlist of potential candidates, make sure that each of them knows how much their competitors are offering, and see if any of them will be willing to drop their prices even lower.

If you’re happy to commit to a repeat business contract, use this to your advantage whilst you bargain, working with the service provider’s small business specialist to come to the best possible arrangement for your enterprise.

The golden rule is simple: if you don’t ask, you don’t get.

#3: Invest in Scales

The simplest trick of them all? Invest in some good quality, accurate scales.

So many businesses pay over the odds for postage because they’re estimating how much their items weigh, and adding a little more on top just to be on the safe side.

Companies in the US have made massive profits by developing postage meters to measure packages for you, but suitable scales and a ruler for checking length and width are just as effective.

According to the experts, this straightforward step could save SMEs around 20 percent per annum on charges, which makes it seem rather ridiculous not to give this tip a ‘go’.

When it comes to increasing your profit margins, the simplest way to achieve this is by scaling back your outlay, and every change you make will take you one step closer to attaining this goal. Cut your postage costs without compromising your service, and you’ll be surprised by how much you could save.
