In recent years, discussions around America’s economic challenges have centered on national debt, slowing population growth, and reliance on immigration to maintain a productive workforce. While immigration has historically fueled U.S. growth, it remains a politically polarizing solution. Meanwhile, birth rates in the United States have steadily declined for decades, leaving a demographic imbalance that threatens long-term economic stability.
What if part of the solution lies not in external fixes, but in reviving an internal force—the American family? A new baby boom, supported through targeted government policies, could bolster domestic consumption, reduce dependency on immigration for workforce growth, and ultimately strengthen the U.S. economy’s long-term resilience.
The Problem: Declining Fertility and Its Economic Risks
The U.S. total fertility rate (TFR)—the average number of children per woman—has been below the replacement level of 2.1 since the 1970s. According to the CDC, the rate in 2022 was about 1.66, one of the lowest in American history.
What If American Stores Stop Buying Chinese Imports?
A lot of things changed in last 6 years since I wrote this article. We now have a new president, new policies, and priorities of his administration. Somehow I feel he’s also of the same view with which I wrote this article. this is pure imagination, “What if” scenario. Many of you expressed your views on the article, I thank you for that!
Slowly and gradually I noticed a lot of Americans are now buying American, growing American and making in America. Some started boycotting Chinese goods. More or less I still agree that in short to medium term this ban on Chinese imports would exert tremendous pressure on the world economy, a new recession will result.
But in the long run, say 15-20 years from now, the American economy will get more benefit than any of the other economies in the world if we ban Chinese imports today.
Things To Know About Inflation
One of the most important factors in regards to the financial health of a nation is its currency’s inflation. While most people do know inflation is what happens when goods and services rise in price, their knowledge of the complex and evolving issue usually ends there. To help expand your understanding of inflation, below are a few things you may have not known about it.

As shown in the above picture, US inflation is now historically low. We do not feel the pressure of rising prices, at least not as much as people from other countries face. But we need to be careful and should take steps that can protect our money and wealth during those high inflation days.
Understanding Quantitative Easing and Tapering
If you hold any kind of investments, the movements of the financial markets are relevant to you. Even if you don’t have investments which you manage yourself, the chances are that you have a retirement fund of some kind which will be affected by financial market, economy and monetary policy.
Since the 2008 financial crisis, governments worldwide have taken steps to try to boost the economy. But have these steps worked? The financial press is full of talk of tapering, but what does it mean? And what exactly is quantitative easing (QE) and what does it mean for you?
Outsourcing Trend in America, Where are we Going in Terms of Outsourcing?
At this blog, I only talk about our finances. Let me break the trend and give you some food for thought. This is about the economy as a whole, not our own personal economy. All related to outsourcing trend and the political and economic impact of it. The three articles covered the aspects of:

Men Work More, While Women do More Household Chores – Even in America
Interesting data caught my attention today. Bureau Of Labor Statistics published American Time use survey results for 2011. The result tallies with the general belief that men do more outside work and women helps more with household work. The difference is not much, and I am sure the work division is least among other countries.
I am going to present some of the important facts that came out of the survey.
How Personal Financial Health is Related to Country’s Economy
A country is an organization of individuals—when something affects the country, it also affects the individuals, and vice versa. Thus, it would be untrue to say that if recession or boom hits a country, individuals are not affected by it.
Personal finance deals with a person or a family unit, and the main facets for personal finance are the amount, taxation, security and origin of the money needed for individuals and their families for survival. We can see how personal financial health is affected by country’s economy throughout the world today, especially in United States.
What is Obama Care and How Does it Affect Us?
President Barrack Obama is perhaps immortalized forever in American history with the passage of Obama Care or “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)”, much like Bush Jr. , who is now famous for his legendary (perhaps insane) tax cut.
What is Obama Care?
I was recently wondering about it. Scanning through a lot of online material and videos later I somehow cracked Obama care. I am trying to bring my knowledge and judgement about this healthcare reform bill. I hop my ignorance and biased approach (if any) would be pointed out by informed readers.
